We are a creative social enterprise studio on a mission to create art, bring stories to life, and connect folk with memory.
Dr. Jaleesa Wells | JaleesaPhD
Founder and Creative Director
Dr. Jaleesa Wells is a Berea‑based craft artist, public scholar, and creative social entrepreneur whose practice draws from familial craft traditions and contemporary artistry, archival research within underexplored and often hidden histories, and everyday stories people carry and share. Through her creative social enterprise BossiRainbow™ LLC, she designs and crafts interactive textiles and story‑driven art quilts that invite people to play with and share memories across generations, using fine art quilting, fabric dyeing and painting, soft sculpture, surface design, and interactive formats to explore collective histories that transcend space and time. Her work and research have been supported by the Ardis James QSOS Scholars program, the Kentucky Arts Council and National Endowment for the Art’s America250KY grant, the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship (VACE) Bootcamp, and Launch Blue’s UAccel accelerator and NSF i-Corp programs. Dr. Wells is a member of the Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), the Quilt Alliance, and the Craft Industry Alliance.
